Prepare for mastering : file delivery
Bit Depth: 24-bit is preferred (16-bit only if necessary).
Sample Rate: Maintain the same sample rate used during mixing and recording. (ex: if your audio set up for recording your synths and drum machines is 48kHz, then simply export at the same rate. No upscaling please).
Format: WAV or AIFF are preferred; FLAC and ALAC are also accepted.
Headroom: Ensure the audio does not peak at 0dBFS—anything below is acceptable. As nowadays most DAWs are working in 32-bit float environments, there is absolutely no issue with delivering rather hot premasters.
File Transfer: Please use the service of your choice. Avoid the free version of WeTransfer, as it does not retain files for long. Free recommended platforms would be SwissTransfer and Smash.
Feel free to include reference tracks.
